ABSTRACT
Some of the major problems facing SMEs today include environmental factors. Performance of Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) is largely seen as way the economy can grow. This study examined the environmental factors and performance of small business enterprise. Survey research method was adopted. A sample of one hundred and thirty three (133) small business owners was drawn from the population. The chi-square technique was employed for the analysis of the data collected.
The findings show that there is a significant relationship between external environment factors and performance of small scale business and there is significant relationship between increased productivity of small business and socio-cultural factors within the business environment where it operates where it operates.
